Last Home Game Girls' Varsity Basketball | Kearsley High School | Flint Michigan

I travel often to the Flint area, and used to live there.  Flint, Michigan has been in the headlines for some awful things.  The crime is high, the area is becoming more and more vacant, with abandoned auto plants, homes and businesses.  Everyone know about the water crisis.  You would think I would be embarrassed to be from such a miserable city, but I am not.  I am proud.

I am proud of the people of Flint, that have not given up on the city that once was a thriving, fun place to hang out in.  They stay and they are trying to build the city back up with hard work and devotion.  We had Chevy, Buick and GM plants.  We had lots of awesome restaurants, shopping malls, and so much more.  It is not like that now.  I hope that it will be again and I know that if any city has a chance to rebuild from something awful, it is Flint.

Having said that, I absolutely love photographing the Seniors in Flint, and one of my favorite schools is Kearsley High School!  I just had to be at the girls last home game for varsity basketball to support my girls!

It was great seeing them all, and especially doing something they are not only very good at, but love. It was also awesome to also be a part of this transition in their lives.

Diane, who is my current spokesmodel, is such a leader on the court.  She wears #1 proudly on the back of her jersey and she may be little, but she is fierce!  I have never seen so much energy rolled up in one person before!  She ran around that court and never seemed tired!  She is truly dedicated to basketball and her team.

Brandi joined my spokesmodel program this year and will be graduating in 2017.  She proudly wears #11 on her jersey. She is so adorable and full of energy and so fun to watch!  She was so into what was going on on the court, and she was always there waiting for the ball to be passed to her, blocking the other team and being supportive of her teammates. She and Diane seemed to have their own language on the court and it was evident that Diane looked to Brandi to assist in completing plays, and she did a great job at it!

I was also surprised to see Reyana, who I absolutely adore and photographed as well.  She is a beautiful dancer on the Varsity dance team.  Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her that night, but it was great to see her!

It was sad to see the game end.  I know these girls have a great life ahead of them full of hopes and dreams, that will take them on new adventures!  I wish them all the very best!

Welcome Brandi || Flint, Michigan || 2017 Spokesmodel || Melissa Anne Photography

So happy to announce Brandi Morgan is officially on my 2017 Spokesmodel Team!  I could not have a better spokesmodel to join me.  I can't wait to do our first session!  All we need is some snow, and with the weather being in the 60's here in Michigan, I am not sure if that will be anytime soon!

Big sister, Haleigh, was so excited to be a part of the surprise and since she was my first ever Spokesmodel, I figured who better than her to pass on the torch to her little sis!

We decided to make it a complete surprise.  I LOVE surprises! I dropped off the announcement and flowers to Brandi's Mom at work and she took them home where Haleigh gave them to her.

It is your turn now Brandi!  I seriously can not wait to start shooting your photos!!  EEEKKKK!

Diane B. || Kearsley High || Flint, Michigan

We had a great shoot yesterday in Flint, Michigan at a local park and nature preserve.  The weather was perfect, a little cool, but a great day for photos!

Diane is my Senior Spokes model from Kearsley High School.  We did some Fall photos and also some of her in her Homecoming dress.  She was crowned Homecoming Queen during half time at the football game against Linden High School!  She is so sweet and humble.  The perfect choice for Queen.  Her dress was so beautiful just like her!

We moved on to the nature preserve and caught some shots just before sunset.
It was the perfect location and less crowded!

I am still booking Senior sessions for Fall and have a few dates available, but they are going fast!

Alec P. || Kearsley High || Flint, Michigan {10-15-15}

OMG.  I have been dying to show you this session!  We went to Ann Arbor yesterday with Alec and his parents for his Senior Session and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

We visited the Graffiti Alley on Liberty St. and it blew my mind!  It was seriously a photographers paradise and I did not want to ever leave!  We also went on the campus of University of Michigan and got some cool shots.  The Fall colors are just starting to pop around here, so it made an awesome backdrop!

Alec rocked out his session and as you can see, he is a handsome guy with lots of style!  He is a Senior at Kearsley High School in Flint, Michigan and he is planning on attending either CMU or Grand Valley State for college next year.

Alexxa F. {Kearsley High} Class of 2016

Meet Alexxa!

Alexxa is a Senior at Kearsley High School in Flint, MI.

We almost got rained out, but fortunately it stayed dry and overcast for our shoot.

We started at one of my favorite parks and then went downtown Royal Oak for some shots with the graffiti wall. Mom and Grandma joined in on the fun and were so great helping keep outfits together and organizing props and even carrying them for several blocks around town!

Alexxa plays first base on the Vasity softball team for Kearsley High and she is also on the Varsity bowling team!  Busy girl!

She had the perfect outfits for her shoot. I just LOVE her style!  She totally rocked her session!

Congratulations Alexxa on your Senior year!!
