I was so excited to meet this precious little girl in the studio last week!  She was so adorable and her HAIR!

Vedanshuya was born on 4-2-16 and weighed 7lbs 6oz and was 21" long.  She was 15 days old when she came into my studio.  She was perfect and we ended up getting a lot of great photos.

She is the first baby in the family and is so loved by them already!  She was a pretty chill little lady and even gave us a few smiles!  She has beautiful eyes and her eye lashes are a mile long! 

 I could have photographer her ALL DAY LONG, but I am sure Mom & Dad would rather go home and relax, so I will just have to wait until next time!

Brandi M. 2017 Spokesmodel | Melissa Anne Photography | Senior Portrait Photographer Flint Michigan | 4/18/16

Brandi is a Junior at Kearsley High School in Flint, Michigan.  She is on the Varsity Girls Basketball Team and loves sports, including golf!  She loves camping, fishing, and her family.  Her favorite color is blue and she loves Country music.  She wants to attend Wayne State University for either physical or occupational therapy, or nursing.

Her sister, Haleigh, was my first ever Spokesmodel, representing the Class of 2014.  It seems like yesterday we were taking Haleigh's senior pictures!

The torch as been passed, and now it is Brandi's turn!

We started off with hair and makeup by Michelle Busch, who is absolutely amazing!  Brandi looked like a super model and she brought the best outfits!

We headed to Detroit for something urban and cool.  We ended up at Belle Isle and got some awesome shots in front of the fountain.   Unfortunately it was not on, but I don't think they were expecting it to be so nice this early in April.  It was 75 degrees out, so the island was busy! 

We also had to stop by the Conservatory and I just love how it looks in the background.

We then headed to Dequindre Cut, which neither of us had ever been too. It was SO cool!  Totally unique and just awesome! 

All in all, everything went smoothly,(except for GPS telling me to go the wrong way once and the weird dirt parking lot for the graffiti walls!)

Why A Boudoir Photoshoot? | Royal Oak, Michigan | Boudoir Photography | Melissa Anne Photography

 Melissa contacted me because she wanted to schedule a Boudoir session.  We planned on the style and what she was looking for in the shoot.  She told me she NEEDED to do this.  She is a beautiful woman who has had a string of bad, life changing events happen within a short time and she NEEDED to learn to love herself again.  We had an AMAZING session and right from the start of her hair & makeup transformation, I could see a vibrant, confident woman start to emerge.

"It was a rough start to the year.  When a series of negative and life changing events happen in your life, it can not only cause depression, but shatter your feelings of self worth and confidence.  I was determined to feel good about myself again.  I've always struggled with my weight and decided that I didn't want to focus my energy on feeling bad about myself for my size, age or past events, but to build my confidence back up by pushing aside my fears and doubt and rocking who I am!  You see, beauty isn't defined by the numbers on the scale, the amount of wrinkles you have or the year you were born.  Beauty is the confidence that you build by loving and embracing who you are.  It's the essence that makes you, YOU!  So I did a photo shoot.  I wanted to show the world what fierce looked like.  Through struggle there is strength and Melissa was able to capture that.  And for that I am sincerely thankful!!"

We will have your favorite music playing and a yummy Cupcake & Mimosa Bar for you to enjoy.  Your session will be customized just for you!  After your session, we will schedule your Reveal & Ordering session that will take place within a week of your session.  I will show you all your retouched images and products options.  We will discuss the best print and products to showcase your beautiful images. My most popular products are the custom albums, metal wall art and heirloom keepsake boxes.  Once you have selected your prints & products I will place your order and arrange for delivery.  All orders are delivered in person, by me, and are ready for display!

Rilyn | One Year | Child Portrait Photography | Royal Oak, Michigan Photographer

Rilyn is ONE!!

What a doll she is!  I fell in love with her immediately.  The eyes.  The curls.  That SMILE!!  She is definitely a beautiful little girl and has a spunky personality to match!

She is having a Mickey Mouse themed party, so we decorated the studio with lots of red balloons, which were a BIG hit with the birthday girl!

We also had a quick outfit change into a rainbow colored tutu and a birthday girl shirt that was so adorable!  She had the cutest outfits!

It had a blast with Rilyn and her family and can't wait to see them again!

 Special thanks to big sister for being such a help in getting her to smile :)

Melissa N. | Pinup-Boudoir | Royal Oak, Michigan | April 1, 2016

When Melissa contacted me to do a Boudoir/Pinup session, I was SO excited.  After talking to her and finding out WHY she needed to do this, I was beyond excited.  After a bad start to 2016, she needed a confidence boost, and she needed to do this for herself.  She was ready to move on with her life and I was so ecstatic to be a part of it!

She wanted to embrace herself as she is and put the past in the past.  She wanted to be real.  Raw.  She wanted to show that there is no cap on age, weight, and that beauty comes in many different, unique forms.  She freaking NAILED IT.

Her outfits were perfect.  She seriously could model.  She really just nailed the entire shoot.  I saw her insecurities melt away and I saw a fierce woman emerge from everything that had tried to keep her down.

From the start of hair & makeup I saw her go from nervous and unsure to confident!  She looked like a movie star from the black & white film days.  Her eyes, her lips.....AHHHH!

 We seriously had a BLAST and I left the session feeling like she was ready to move on with her life and that she truly transformed right before my lens.

This is why I do what I do.  And this is why I love it.
